... IT ACTUALLY STARTED AS A BIT OF A PANIC MEASURE
DURING THE PANDEMIC IN DECEMBER 2020
The hospitality industry was told to adapt and offer takeaway as part of the solution in a difficult time. However, we live on a fantastic but also small island with around 400 inhabitants, and despite the persistence and great support of our dear neighbors, it is difficult to run around an entire restaurant business and a hotel solely based on the visits of the locals.
So when circumstances limited the option to travel to us, we had to rethink and bring the Kitchen of Ven and our food experiences home to our guests instead.
And so began the adventure of the food truck - our rolling restaurant.
Honest and local street food
We carry with us the Kitchen of Ven and our motto "Best Taste Closest to Us" with us when we go on the road. We stay true to our Scandinavian roots and also offer vegetarian options. Our food is delivered fast and in sustainable packaging and preferably gives a taste for more, and perhaps a visit to our home island of Ven.

Crispy roast of Scanian pigs, pickled sugar beets from Kungsgården on Ven, 2 toasted slices of our stone oven baked bread, homemade red cabbage salad, hand-stirred herb dressing made from plants foraged from Tycho Brahe's garden and Turistgården's red onions and our own mustard.
